Trump Goes Off On Bill Barr After Indictment Statement

Former President Donald Trump lashed out over the weekend at exAttorney General William Barr after Barr gave a harsh assessment of the 37count federal indictment levied against the former president.

Barr, who for most of Trumps administration had been a staunch defender of the president, had no kind words for Trump on the indictment from the Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, tellingFox News Sunday:Its a very detailed indictment and its very, very damning. And this idea of presenting Trump as a victim here, or a victim of a witch hunt, is ridiculous.

Trump, who had praised Barr in the past for his defenses, took to social media to vent his frustrations.

Virtually everyone is saying that the Indictment is about Election Interference & should not have been brought, except Bill Barr, adisgruntled former employee & lazy Attorney General who was weak & totally ineffective, Trump wrote. He doesnt mean what hes saying, its just MISINFORMATION. Barrs doing it because he hatesTRUMP for firing him. He was deathly afraid of the Radical Left when they said they would Impeach him. He knows the Indictment is Bull…. Turn off FoxNews when thatGutless Pig is on!

Appearing onThe Roger Stone Show over the weekend on 77 WABC, Trump continued his attacks and called Barra lowlife.

I think hes a coward who didnt do his job, Trump said.We had unbelievable people as you know, in the administration, but we also had some that we got wrong and Bill Barr was a mistake. And you know, too bad but he was a mistake. And now he goes and he sits down if they can find a chair for him, because its not that easy and he sits down and he just bloviates and its disgraceful. Its actually unpatriotic. Its so bad for our country, just so bad. But, you know, hes got a lot of hatred.

However, while Trump attacked the former AG for his opinion on the federal indictment, he stopped short of calling Barr part ofthe Deep State.

For his part, Barr had said during his Fox interview thatthe government acted responsibly in its handling of the case and presented evidence that indicated the former president had indeed obstructed the subpoena.

According to the government, he lied and obstructed that subpoena. And then they did a search, and they found a lot more documents, he said.

The dispute comes as the legal battle between Trump and the U.S. Justice Department continues over the federal indictment, with Trump asserting his innocence through his lawyers and the court. How the case will conclude remains to be seen.
