New York And Congress Not Happy As Bill De Blasio Teases A Possible Run

Former New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio (D) seems to have his sights set on the recently created 10th Congressional District, and his former constituents are not at all impressed or happy with the idea that he could once again be the one to represent them again, but this time in Washington, D.C.

As stated in a report from the New York Post sent out this past Tuesday afternoon, de Blasio stated to state Assemblyman Simcha Eichenstein (D-Borough Park) that “he is committed to running in the race.”

“Just when you thought he was out …ex-NYC Mayor @BilldeBlasio told a state lawmaker — who told The Post — he plans to run for New York’s newly drawn 10th Congressional district — the seat that’ll likely stretch from Lower Manhattan into Brooklyn,” The Post’s City Hall bureau chief stated via a tweet alongside the new article.

“He’s in, he’s running – he’s calling people,” Eichenstein stated to the Post, going on to add that he had already set up a list of donors and was making calls to a list of other officials to let them know of his choice.

“Based on the conversation that I had with him earlier today, he is running for Congress in the new NY-10 congressional district,” continued Eichenstein. “He called me earlier this afternoon. While I will keep our conversation private, I will confirm that we spoke for over 20 minutes about his decision to run for this district.”

Claim that the response from Molly Jong-Fast with the Atlantic was entirely unenthusiastic about the whole prospect of a “Congressman de Blasio” would be a drastic understatement. Her response came in the form of a tweet and simply read, “No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no.”

It was also highlighted by Brooklyn Law School adjunct professor David Greenfield that while EIchenstein had been entirely ready and quite willing to leak the news to the Post, he had not taken the obvious opportunity to endorse the former previous mayor in the race.

“Grant all the forthcoming generations of women the self-belief of middle aged white men,” stated Lindsey Boylan via a tweet that also included a praying hands emoji.

“Of course he is,” tacked on Janice Dean, a senior meteorologist for Fox News.

Jacob Rubashkin, a reporter from Inside Elections, stated in a tweet: “Brooklyn is in the House?”
