CBS News Crawls Back To Twitter After Halting Use With Cryptic Statement

This past Sunday saw the resuming of Twitter use for CBS News in the wake of its recent announcement that the network would put a stop to its use of the social media platform “out of an abundance of caution” as the social media titan undergoes a massive and intense period of change as New CEO Elon Musk settles in as the new owner.

“After pausing for much of the weekend to assess the security concerns, CBS News and Stations is resuming its activity on Twitter as we continue to monitor the situation,” tweeted out the communications team for the network early Sunday morning.

This past Friday, CBS News reporter Jonathan Vigliotti explained that the network would be halting all sharing of its content on the platform due to “uncertainty” about just how the platform would work in the wake of the mass exodus of thousands of employees that has happened due to the takeover of new CEO Elon Musk.

A report from Variety explained that the news outlet had voiced concerns about the possible breaking down of the critical functions of the platform and if it would end up being more susceptible to hacking attacks.

Glenn Greenwald, an independent journalist, openly mocked the reversal after only 48 hours from the massive network.

“CBS News has decided it’s once again safe to use Twitter – but only for the moment!” he exclaimed. “They are continuing to ‘assess security concerns’ and ‘monitor the situation.’ If there are more outbreaks of free speech or hearing from people journalists dislike, they may retreat again.”

In the wake of taking over Twitter late last month, Musk has carved out and terminated all senior management officials, labeled himself as CEO, and dismissed well over half of the staff that was on the company’s payroll.

Once the massive changes had been carried out by Musk, multiple hundred employees for the titanic company reportedly chose to resign this past week in the wake of Musk making the demand that in order to stay at the company, they would be made to commit to “extremely hardcore” working conditions.

Various reports coming in from former employees, leftist politicians, and members of the legacy media concerning Musk and how he had forced the hands of multiple advertisers to put a hard stop on ad spending for the platform.

Musk, however, remains entirely optimistic, stating that the current user activity has managed to hit an “all-time high.”
