10. Told 3 False Personal Stories In A Single Speech
It was supposed to be a speech about the economy, and while that prepared speech was fairly accurate, the problems started when Biden went off script. Though he did mention that he had reduced the national debt.This was not true, the national debt has actually increased. He meant the deficit, which the White House later clarified.
But then he threw in a few stories, like the often told Amtrak story. He talked about the time he was talking with a conductor named Angelo Negri, on his way home to see his mom in hospice. The problem here is, that at the time Biden says he had the conversation, both Mr. Negri and his mom had already passed away.
Another story was about how he was born in the same hospital that his grandfather had died in, just a few days later. The fact is, Biden’s grandfather died in a Baltimore hospital a year before Joe was born at a hospital In Scranton.
Later, while talking about infrastructure, Biden brought up the time he saw a bridge collapse in Pittsburgh. This was not true. He arrived several hours after the tragedy for an event that had already been scheduled. He did in fact see the damage, but not the actual collapse.
