In an almost valiant attempt, the White House staff tried to sneakily tweak the transcripts to cover up the insane teleprompter mistake made by President Joe Biden, but the efforts did not go unnoticed by the internet and have been widely mocked.
This past Friday, Biden went on camera to complain about the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade, labeling the decision as an “exercise in raw power.” However, when he attempted to quote the majority decisions, he seemed to read the quiet part out loud as he read the instructions on the teleprompted instead of the actual speech.
“Women are not without electoral or political power, it is noteworthy that the percentage of women who register to vote and cast a ballot is consistently higher than the percentage of the men who do so, end of quote, repeat the line,” Biden exclaimed boldly.
The mistake sparked quite a bit of mockery online that afternoon, but the mistake made by Biden seemed to mysteriously vanish by the time the official release and its transcript was posted.
“Let me repeat the line,” Biden was meant to say, according to the released transcript.
In the wake of the wave of ridicule on social media, White House Assistant Press Secretary Emelie Simons promised really hard that Biden had not actually read the teleprompter instructions.
“No. He said, ‘let me repeat that line,’” Simons repeated via a tweet.

“They are spitting in your face & telling you it’s rain,” exclaimed Viva Frei, a popular lawyer from YouTube who recently made the move from Canada to Florida. “The White House [is] modifying the transcript to pretend POTUS’ obvious gaffe was intended to be part of the speech. It says though they think the video doesn’t exist. Or people will choose to believe the lie.”
White House transcript of Biden remarks is now incorrectly aligned with what this WH assistant press secretary falsely claimed on Twitter, despite the video showing Biden clearly stating “End of quote. Repeat the line.” & *not* “Let me repeat the line.”https://t.co/fJrzgfdbEy https://t.co/GX3zftIEtB pic.twitter.com/snrRHnHRIr

“Emelie Simons, sure seems like you’re the one who doctored the official transcript to cover up for Biden’s cognitive issues,” stated John Cardillo on Twitter.
“Desperate to save face, the White House just took gaslighting to another level by lying in an official transcript about Biden‘s gaffe captured on camera,” stated Mia Cathell.
This is not the first time we have seen Biden struggle with technology, specifically his teleprompter, or has managed to unveil his extreme dependence on being guided through events by his handlers.
This past month, another eagle-eyed reporter managed to spot some odd notes on the back of Biden’s reminder notecards as he went in front of the union and private sector leaders about wind energy that reminded him what to do with step-by-step directions, including the step “YOU take YOUR seat.”
