The Republican Party is calling for stronger measures to be taken against illegal immigration, citing it as an act of “economic warfare” against working– and middle–class Americans.
Senator J.D. Vance (R–OH) recently spoke with Breitbart News Saturday and called on the Republican Party to discuss illegal immigration as “the cheap labor lobby” that is attempting to inflate the U.S. labor market in order to reduce wages and employ foreign workers with little–to–no bargaining power.
Vance stated that illegal immigration can have a huge impact on housing prices, as the demand for housing increases, so does the cost and payout for developers and landlords.
“Think of the effects that this has on working Americans’ wages to have 10 million more people who shouldn’t be here competing for jobs,” Vance said. “Think about what this does for housing prices, when you have to house 10 million people that shouldn’t be here, that drives up the costs of housing when interest rates are already through the roof.”
Vance further emphasized that President Joe Biden and his Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas are “not even hiding” their intended goal of illegal immigration, which is to boost the economy and fill jobs with foreign workers.
Data from the labor market has shown that Biden is funneling illegal aliens, foreign visa workers, and legal immigrants into American jobs, while leaving millions of working– and middle–class Americans on the sidelines.
In the fourth quarter of 2022, close to two million fewer native–born Americans were working in jobs compared to the same time in 2019, while two million foreign–born workers were added to the workforce.
The Republican Party is calling on Biden to take action to end the “economic warfare” of illegal immigration and to protect the American people from its negative effects. They are urging the president to take measures that will ensure that wages remain competitive and housing prices stay within reach for working– and middle–class Americans.
