Republicans on the House Judiciary Committee have issued a subpoena for Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf, a key figure in the Justice Department’s investigation into Hunter Biden. Allegations have surfaced suggesting that Wolf may have attempted to shield President Biden from specific lines of questioning and search warrants related to the probe.
The subpoena, reviewed by Fox News Digital, mandates Wolf’s appearance before the committee on December 7 at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, D.C. The move follows concerns raised earlier this year, stemming from whistleblower testimony by FBI official Gary Shapley Jr., who supervised the Hunter Biden investigation at the IRS.
Shapley’s testimony alleges decisions made during the investigation that seemingly favored President Biden’s son, raising questions about the credibility of the probe. In particular, Shapley accused Wolf of limiting questions pertaining to President Biden and obstructing search warrants, citing concerns about “optics” throughout the years-long inquiry.
The whistleblower contends that Wolf dismissed inquiries into President Biden’s potential involvement and references to him as “dad” or “the big guy.” Shapley’s claims extend to Wolf initially approving probable cause for a search warrant on Hunter Biden’s residence in October 2020, only to later block a physical search warrant due to concerns about “optics.”
Additional accusations include Wolf allegedly tipping off Hunter Biden’s legal team ahead of a planned search of his storage unit. These allegations collectively suggest potential bias in the investigative process.
Fox News Digital has reached out to the Justice Department for comment on these allegations. The House Judiciary Committee’s subpoena seeks to address these concerns during the scheduled appearance of Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf on December 7, highlighting the escalating scrutiny over the Hunter Biden investigation and the actions of key individuals within the Justice Department.
