Fox & Friends has declared Former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley the winner of the duel between her and entrepreneur, investor, and author Vivek Ramaswamy during Thursday night’s Republican 2024 Primary debate in Milwaukee.
Earlier in the debate, Haley and Ramaswamy faced off on the topic of foreign policy in their attempt to have a breakout moment on stage. While the debate focused heavily on the policies of the eight candidates, host Brian Kilmeade seemed to sum up the overall consensus on Haley’s battle with Ramaswamy.
“For me, Nikki Haley is on the right side of this one in every sense of the word,” Kilmeade said.
This sentiment was echoed by co-host Steve Doocy who said, “The good thing about last night, without Donald Trump there, we could actually hear all of those eight candidates talk about policies for the most part. We saw a lot of policy differences, so people can make up their mind.”
Ainsley Earhardt agreed, adding that she was “glad” Haley confronted Ramaswamy on his foreign policy stances and “I wasn’t impressed” by his rebuttal.
“It was not satisfactory,” Earhardt recapped.
The Wall Street Journal weighed in on the duel, saying that Ramaswamy “sounded like a young man in too much of a hurry.” They also said that he was attempting to be Donald Trump’s biggest defender.
The debate at times took a comedic turn as the candidates targeted each other and Trump. But when the dust settled, Haley stood out in her take-no-prisoners battle with Ramaswamy. As the co-hosts picked over the debate the morning after, their combined opinion seemed to say it all: Haley was the clear winner in this particular matchup.
As the race for the Republican presidential nomination continues to heat up, the debate in Milwaukee showed that there are some clear differences between the candidates and where they stand on foreign affairs.
We will have to wait and see if the opinion of Fox & Friends that Nikki Haley won the battle holds true in follow-up debates and the coming months, however, it is clear that she made her presence felt in Milwaukee and has certainly left a lasting impression in the minds of voters.
