There has been a pretty extreme level of resentment targeting Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) from voters in her home state due to her actions and involvement in the January 6 committee.
While at the Frontier Days rodeo hosted in Cheyenne Wyoming, CNN held interviews with the constituents of the congresswoman concerning their thoughts on how she has recently been conducting herself. Cheney, who sits as the vice chair of the House select committee that is investigating the January 6 riot, has gained quite a few new enemies throughout the GOP through her repeated criticism of former President Donald Trump and her express vote to impeach him.
“Are you planning to vote for Liz Cheney?” asked Randi Kaye from CNN to Wyoming voter Sharon Tuggle, who quickly fired back her response, “Hell no.”
“She’s done us dirty,” expressed Tuggle, confirming to Kaye that Cheney fully lost her vote due to her participation in the January 6th committee. “Look at how she’s done Trump.”

“She is supposed to be supporting him,” continued Tuggle, “She is a Republican, for crying out loud.”
“Personally, I think she’s had three too many,” stated another voter to Kaye, after being asked if Cheney should attempt to run for another term.
Yet another voter that was interviewed by CNN stated that she sees Cheney’s work on the “January 6th committee just repulsive.”
“It’s all a hoax. It’s all propaganda. It has nothing to do with anything. It’s a witch hunt,” stated Andrew Kahler, another Wyoming voter.
“She says she’s defending what’s important to people here in Wyoming, upholding the rule of law and defending the constitution,” offered Kaye to another Wyoming voter, Brett Kupec.
“If that was the rule of law, why doesn’t he have a defense team in that courtroom?” answered Kupec. “That ain’t a rule of law. That’s a kangaroo court. That’s not the Wyoming way.”
Yet another labeled Cheney as “an embarrassment.”
Voters also stated that Cheney is extremely out of touch with the people of her home state, and overly focused on the committee and trying to attack Trump.
“She doesn’t know what her constituents want here anymore because she’s lost touch with the values of the people,” expressed one male voter.
“I don’t feel like she supports her people here in Wyoming anymore,” stated another woman. “The things that she’s voting for don’t really reflect what the people here in Wyoming feel.”
A poll for the Casper Star-Tribune, which was carried out by Mason-Dixon Polling & Strategy back in July, discovered that Cheney was quickly falling behind at a double-digit rate behind her Republican challenger, Harriet Hageman, who has received an endorsement from Trump.
