This past Wednesday, Elon Musk threw his approval behind Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis as the person that he would like to see become the next President of the United States.
Musk issued this statement in the wake of tweeting out that he also backed a Republican candidate that recently made history by taking back south Texas on Tuesday for the first time in over 150 years.
“I voted for Mayra Flores – first time I ever voted Republican,” stated Musk in his tweet. “Massive red wave in 2022.”
When questioned about who he was thinking of supporting for the upcoming 2024 presidential election, Musk answered, “DeSantis.”
“I supported Yang last time, but DeSantis has a better chance of winning,” Musk added after the fact.

Recently, Musk doubled down on his support of the Republican party in regards to the upcoming midterms due to how many Democrats have been treating him.
“I support free speech, but not any one candidate,” stated Musk in a recent tweet. “In fact, I gave money to & voted for Hillary & then voted for Biden. However, given unprovoked attacks by leading Democrats against me & a very cold shoulder to Tesla & SpaceX, I intend to vote Republican in November.”
Musk said back in May that he would be voting Republican in the coming election despite having “voted overwhelmingly for Democrats, historically.”
“Like I’m not sure, I might never have voted for a Republican, just to be clear,” stated Musk. “Now this election I will.”
Musk stated that Democrats were under the thumb of the unions, which he claimed was “just another form of monopoly,” and class-action lawyers.
Musk went on to explain why he voted for Democrats throughout previous elections and why he will not longer be able to support them moving forward.
“In the past I voted Democrat, because they were (mostly) the kindness party,” stated Musk on Twitter. “But they have become the party of division & hate, so I can no longer support them and will vote Republican. Now, watch their dirty tricks campaign against me unfold.”
Musk also fired a few shots at both former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden in statements back in May.
“Even though I think a less divisive candidate would be better in 2024, I still think Trump should be restored to Twitter,” stated Msuk, who later went on to add: “Biden’s mistake is that he thinks he was elected to transform the country, but actually everyone just wanted less drama.”
Additionally, we have seen Musk fire shots at big government in the past, which is the central theme of the Democrat party. “It does not make sense to take the job of capital allocation away from people with a demonstrated great skill in capital allocation and give it to an entity that has demonstrated very poor skill in capital allocation,” Musk claimed to the Wall Street Jounrnal. “Think of the government essentially as a corporation in the limit. The government is simply the biggest corporation, with a monopoly on violence and where you have no recourse.”
